Just the dough was really dry for some reason? I think there was too much flour, I couldn’t even add any extra to the chocolate side because it was too dry. When they baked, they were definitely more cakey (probably because of extra flour) but they still tasted really delicious! I just think the flour ratio is off 🙂

Hi Michelle! I’m so sorry these puffed up for you and that I’m just seeing this now–we had an issue with our comments not loading and just got a whole flood of comment from last month come in! I’m going to revisit this recipe this week and get to the bottom of it!!

Hi Mercedez! I’m so sorry to hear these didn’t turn out well for you! If they fell flat it’s most likely that your baking powder and/or baking soda is expired!

I bake a great deal from scratch. My cookies didn’t look like your photo. They were more dome shaped. Still delicious just not the same appearance. I made one batch just choc chip & 1 recipe with the cocoa as I wanted more cookies. Seemed easier than splitting

The recipe is simple and at the end you do not have to choose between a chocolate cookie or a vanilla cookie. Here you have the best of both worlds and a lot of chocolate chips;)

They did not expand much and were a little bit dry. They were still yummy but next time I will do only 1 1/2 cup of flour!
